Addiction Recovery & Restoration

It’s All Part of the Process

What role does nutrition play in recovery? We believe a big one. I began my dietetics career working in a residential rehab facility and had the opportunity to counsel hundred of patients in recovery. It’s fair to say that when someone is in the throes of addiction, they probably haven’t been focused on taking the best care of themselves and eating for wellness. A balanced diet can help stabilize not only energy and mood, but also decrease cravings and promote mental clarity.

We will support you by helping you re-establish healthy eating and exercise patterns. This will allow both your body and brain to give their all when battling the addiction. We’ll work with your doctors to address any nutrient deficiencies or gastrointestinal complications you experience during the recovery process. We’ll also help you build an arsenal of self-care tools that reduce stress, promote adequate rest, and keep you grounded. We provide hands-on sessions or groups to teach you about meal planning, grocery shopping, and simple cooking techniques.

Having worked with clients in all stages of recovery, we understand the ebb and flow of the process. We know that successful recovery is not perfect, and we hold no such expectations. We’re here to provide a space for support and motivation. Many of our clients attend a variety of 12-step programs or other support groups, in addition to their work with their therapist and registered dietitian. We understand the importance of these groups and will happily work to fit our services into a structured schedule that provides you the support and structure beneficial to maintaining your long term recovery.
